Teachers
Michele Friedman has been practicing yoga since 1987 and teaching Hatha yoga in Sitka since 1990.
Sarah Lawrie is an Experienced RYT registered with Yoga Alliance, she received her certification in New Mexico under Kim Schwartz. Sarah’s teaching style emphasizes linking poses together with the breath, using the vehicle of the body to clear the mind and heart. Sarah believes yoga is an evolving, organic practice. Sarah’s classes are creative, fun and vigorous.
Sharon Leddick is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She had “dabbled” in various yoga styles since the mid-nineties until she discovered Corepower Yoga in 2004. After spending two years at a Corepower studio in Denver she enrolled in a teacher training program. Sharon has been teaching in Sitka since 2007.
Gloria Lee-Nash is a mother, daughter and student of life. Gloria has been practicing yoga for 7 years and studied with many different teachers with backgrounds ranging from Kundalini, Anusara and Acro Yoga. Most recently Gloria has studied with Erin and Kevin O’Keefe, the creators of Circus Yoga. Her intention in class is to inspire students to find an inner creative fire throught meditative movement and create a strong Kula (community) in which we can all connect.
Kirsten Reifenstuhl is a certified Corepower yoga teacher who recently moved to Sitka from Portland, Oregon. Over the last ten years she has enjoyed practicing many different styles of yoga including Hatha, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Bikram, and Power Vinyasa.
Lisa Sadleir-Hart is a certified group fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise, certified health education specialist and a spiritual director. She has practiced yoga since 2002 and taught gentle and restorative yoga classes since early 2007. She also facilitates retreats on spirituality with a focus on integrating the expressive arts and wisdom of the body into one’s spiritual journey
Santokh Singh (Mike) is a certified Kundalini Teacher through KRI in Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, India. He has practiced Buddhist Meditation, Hatha, Vinyasa styles of yoga , and began his journey with Kundalini Yoga in 2003. Focusing on personal development using Yogic principles, while celebrating all points of view “we seek to align ourselves with the flow of the universe.” Santokh uses humor, physical exercise, chanting and focused meditation- releasing what no longer serves us and opening the door to our true self.
Andrea Thomas has been practicing yoga for 18 years and teaching for 12 years. She originally learned yoga from Michele Friedman and went on to attend numerous workshops, training and advanced teacher training with a variety of teachers and styles. Her eclectic approach is ever changing with newly discovered information and personal growth.
Kasey Davis ( was VanderHoek) is registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. She completed 200-hour yoga instructor training at Heartwood Institute in 2006. In addition she has taken additional weeklong and weekend instructor workshop training with Lynne Minton, Desiree Rumba, Svia, Mary Dunn, Dean Learner, and other instructors. Kasey has been practicing yoga since 1998 and has been instructing since 2004.
Ann Walter is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She has trained primarily in the Iyengar tradition but teaches with a more eclectic approach, exploring different traditions including Viniyoga, Anusara, and Ashtanga.
Carolyn Wohlers is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance with training from YogaFit®, and is member of IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists). “I started yoga over 5 years ago, at my son’s insistence, because I had disabling chronic low back pain following a “failed back surgery.” I found that a regular yoga practice helped considerably with managing my pain, and then established a daily practice.
Karen Zamzow is a licensed chiropractor, certified Yoga Works instructor, and member of the Yoga Alliance. Yoga Works is hatha yoga inspired by Ashtanga, Iyengar and Viniyoga styles. Karen strives to achieve a balance between authenticity and accessibility in the practice of yoga.
