Summer Schedule
Monday night (5:30-7:00pm) yoga with Kasey Davis (was VanderHoek)
These classes focus on building a balance between strength and flexiblility through movement and holding of asana. Many styles of yoga are blended together to provide a total body experience. Every class is unique. Breath, core work and balance are also integrated throughout classes. These classes are appropriate for athletic adventurous beginners and all other yoga practitioners who would like an energizing yoga experiance. Verbal and physical adjustments are given as instructor walks around class, and includes visual demonstrations. Music may accompany classes.
Tuesday 10:30-11:30 Parent and Tot Yoga-Playful Practice! (Gloria Lee-Nash)
Discover new ways to incorporate yoga into your life with your little one through song, story telling and asana practice. Yoga helps children find ways to channel their creative energy, connect with themselves and the world around them. This class is geared towards toddlers with the age group of 3-4, older 2 year olds accepted as well. Can be a drop off, but parents more than welcome to come play.
Tuesday (noon- 1pm) Vinyasa Freedom, Level 2-3 Yoga with Gloria Lee-Nash
Vinyasa is a graceful dance in which the asanas flow into one another, through our practice creating freedom in the body. With connection to our breath, we learn how to engage our muscles while opening and releasing tension in the body. This is a wonderful way to protect sensitive body parts such as knees or shoulders from injury. All are welcome in this class and variations can be made for those with limitations Leave class feeling refreshed and energized.
Tuesday night (7-8:15pm) Kundalini Yoga with Santokh (Mike)
Kundalini Yoga is open to all levels- Come celebrate Earth Energy, new beginnings, and grounding to the planet. Drop the Past and Live in the Present. Set the Foundations for the Future. Tune into the Earth Energy Field. The First Chakra represents Stability and Security. Sets are designed to increase physical strength, to energize and relax, you will feel confident, poised, intuitive, and aware. Come join us!
Wednesday 8:30-10:00am Level 1-2 Yoga mornings with Ann Walter
This class is designed to welcome and support those new to yoga as well as more advanced students who wish to refine their practice. Learn basic asanas to increase strength, flexibility, balance and relaxation of the mind, body and spirit. Invigorate with simple vinyasa flow, refine with longer held poses to facilitate precise alignment even in the face of injury or imbalance, quiet your mind with restorative postures.
Wednesday night 5:30-7pm Level 2-3 with Sarah Lawrie and Gloria Lee-Nash alternating
The emphasis in Vinyasa class is flowing through the asanas, with attention on the breath, in an effort to enjoy a fluid, integrated practice. The three parameters of a balanced Vinyasa practice are sought: steadiness, comfort and the long and steady breath. A Vinyasa yoga class is about doing the yoga asanas. The classes are taught using verbal cues, there is not a lot of hands-on instruction. This class provides a chance to implement knowledge of asana gained from more instructional classes and to learn to link poses together. Taught to music, these classes are best suited to the student with a basic knowledge of the asanas thought all are welcome.
Wednesday night (7:30-8:45pm) Gentle/beginner-level 2 yoga with Andrea Thomas
This class is for students new to yoga, returning to yoga, or looking for a gentle class. The focus will be on learning the building blocks of yoga including breath, alignment, body awareness, and increasing strength and flexibility. This is a hands on class with both verbal and physical adjustments to meet student needs.
Thursday night yoga with Kirsten Reifenstuhl (5:30-6:45pm)
This Vinyasa practice is accessible to beginners and advanced students. It is a unique practice that focuses on linking movement and breath. This class is both energetic and calming.
Friday (6:15-7:30am) Level 2-3 with Andrea Thomas
These classes are for students practicing yoga for more than a year or athletic beginners. An eclectic style of yoga is taught with a heart centered joyful approach-every class is different. Each class includes a combination of warming up movements and an energizing flow of asanas with a focus on breath, alignment, strength, and flexibility. Classes are often theme oriented and include verbal and physical adjustments to deepen your yoga practice.
Friday Gentle Yoga with Lisa Sadleir-Hart (noon-1pm)
This class focuses on the prevention and restoration of mild to moderate lower back discomfort. Class goals include evenly strengthening and lengthening the back extensors, widening the posterior pelvis, decreasing compression on the SI joint, toning the abdominal muscles and practicing steady, even breathing to help elicit the relaxation response. The class is appropriate for beginners to yoga or those who need a gentle practice as they dance with ongoing back pain or tension.
